Introduction
Good morning, everyone, my name is Tomya Williams. How many of you want to live long healthy lives? How many of you want to reduce the amount of harm we are already causing the environment? I strongly believe that to be vegan is the right and moral way to live. Today, I will be persuading you to become vegan and discuss why it is the right and moral way to live. I will begin by discussing the various health benefits that come with this lifestyle and then I will continue by explaining how it prevents animal suffering. Finally, I will explain how this lifestyle helps the environment.
Body
A.Various health benefits
- According to the article titled “Health benefits of a vegan diet: Current Insights” vegans were less likely to develop type two diabetes compared to omnivores.
- Vegans have better gut health
- Vegans have lower cholesterol
B. Prevents Animal suffering
- The National Library of Medicine highlights that there’s four types of animal harm that are brought about by human consumption
C. This lifestyle helps the environment
- The article “Ethical Consumerism:veganism” ,from the online library ‘Wiley’, describes animal agriculture as a major cause of water pollution and waste
- Animal agriculture causes most harmful emissions and deforestation.
Conclusion
Hopefully learning about the various health benefits, prevention of animal suffering and the benefits to the environment will persuade you to become vegan. This lifestyle is very beneficial to many and the most ethical. As humans we already cause so much harm to the earth and the other living creatures that inhibit it. The least we can do is adopt vegan practices as this lifestyle reduces our impact on the world and its creatures that surround us. The article, ‘Ethical consumerism: veganism’ gives us a main takeaway that we are able to live off of plant based diets and give up majority of animal products. Being vegan means living without exploiting other sentient beings so why would you not choose this lifestyle?
